The second season of F1 Drive to Survive just came out on Netflix. Both seasons are only 10 episodes, and I think they are both well worth the time investment. Before I started watching this series, I did not really know anything about the sport. I knew the name Lewis Hamilton, considered to be one of the all-time greats, but that is it. I was not even aware of how the format of the sport worked, or how much of a spectacle each of these events are.
Throughout the course of the series though, I slowly learned all of the racers and their backgrounds. Furthermore, you are introduced to the races and just how much work and money are spent by each of the teams. I also have some friends who were already passionate F1 fans, and they seemed to enjoy the series just as much as I did. This shows that it is a good series as both an introduction for non-fans, as well as a more in-depth look for already passionate fans. This balance is a difficult thing to achieve, but this series definitely does it.
I have been so impacted by this series that I would now consider myself a passionate F1 fan. I now have my favorite F1 drivers, Charles Leclerc is probably my favorite, and I have even been to a Grand Prix. I went to the Italian Grand Prix, which is considered one of the oldest and most historical races in the sport. It was an incredible experience, and I would definitely recommend going to at least one race if you ever have the opportunity.
