Hui Lau Shan is a dessert chain that is originally from Hong Kong. They specialize mainly in mango and coconut desserts. Apparently, they have now opened up locations in the USA and other parts of the world as well, which is great to see. I do not know how the quality in the locations outside of Hong Kong are, but if they are anything like the Hong Kong stores, they should be really good.
The desserts they have at Hui Lau Shan can come in both takeout and dine-in forms. They have both drinks as well as desserts, and both options are really good. My favorite thing to get at Hui Lau Shan is their Mango & Coconut Sago drink (as seen below). This drink is has mangoes, coconut milk, and sago (like tapioca at the bottom). Overall, it is both super refreshing and super tasty. I am not sure how healthy it is (it probably has a lot of added sugar), but it is worth the tradeoff. Especially if there is hot weather in Hong Kong, this drink will cool you down and taste super good.
Most of the desserts at Hui Lau Shan are around $4-8, but it can depend on what you get. I have not tried all of the desserts, but if you like mango/coconut flavored things, you will definitely enjoy Hui Lau Shan.
This is a blog for myself (and hopefully others) to keep track of all of the places, restaurants, books, movies, etc. that I do not want to forget. I am a college student who has lived in the US, Asia, and Europe for extended periods of time; I am very lucky to have had these experiences, and I want to share my recommendations with people interested in any of these locations.
NONE of these posts are advertisements. I do not have any discount codes or promotions for anything I write about; however, this should be considered a positive because it means that everything I write about reflects my true feelings. In order to keep this blog positive, my posts will only be recommendations for the things I enjoy the most in life. The topics will vary between whatever subjects I am interested in at a certain time, and I will have 1-2 new posts per day.
I wish I could have started this project earlier while some of my memories were fresher in my mind, but it is better late than never. I hope that other people will have the chance to visit or experience things that I write about, and I hope that people will have a similar taste in life to myself!
