One of my personal favorite news sources is WIRED, whose editor is technology expert Steven Levy. WIRED is also a magazine, although I am only a subscriber to its digital platform. WIRED often runs special offers for its pricing, and my offer was $10 for 2 years of access (so cheap!).
I really enjoy reading WIRED because they have a bunch of articles on a wide variety of topics. However, unlike many other news websites, the articles are not so numerous that it is impossible to choose which one to read. Instead, WIRED has a smaller number of articles, each prioritizing quality over quantity. Instead of having 10 articles on the same topic, WIRED oftentimes only has 1-2 articles discussing the situation in depth. As a fan of long-form articles, this type of style really appeals to me.
I would say that WIRED predominantly focuses on the tech industry, but it still covers the traditional news categories (health, global news, entertainment, etc.). Overall, I find most WIRED articles to be very well reasoned, easy to read, and thorough. While it should probably not be your go-to-place for breaking news (such as CNN, Google, Yahoo, etc.), it should be a website that you go check out once a day or so for daily articles.
I hope you at least go check out WIRED once to see if you enjoy its style of articles and news!
WIRED Recommendation Rating: 4
1: Something worth checking out if you have time
2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone
3: Something worth prioritizing if interested
4: Something worth making time to check out
5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
