Jojoen is a high-end yakiniku chain throughout Tokyo. Every time that I go to Japan, I make sure that I make at least one visit to Jojoen (multiple if I am lucky enough). I have been to 5+ locations, and all of them meet the super high quality standards that I expect.

If you have never had yaniniku before, it is similar to a Japanese version of Korean barbecue. At Jojoen, each table gets their own grill, and you just order the meats and cook them how you want it.

The quality of meats at Jojoen is extremely high, and the pork, beef, and seafood are all great. Also, the side dishes such as Ishiyaki bibimbap and the Jojoen Salad are also incredible. The Ishiaki bibimbap is a bibimbap that is cooked in a hot-stone pot, and the Jojoen Salad has a super good dressing and flavor.

As for the main dishes, my favorite meats there are the Harami, the Pork Trio, and the kalbi. Still, as I said before, they are all good so it should really just be based on personal preference.

At the end of every meal, they also give a complimentary ice cream, which is also really good. The service and ambiance at Jojoen is also great, and the whole atmosphere is really enjoyable. Compared to many restaurants in Tokyo (which can already be on the pricey side), Jojoen is even more expensive. I would say that you can expect to spend a minimum of $50 or so if you go, but it is no doubt one of the top restaurants you can go to in Tokyo.

Do not be fooled by it being a chain; this does not mean its low quality, it just means that so many people want to eat it that they have locations everywhere.

Hi,
This is a blog for myself (and hopefully others) to keep track of all of the places, restaurants, books, movies, etc. that I do not want to forget. I am a college student who has lived in the US, Asia, and Europe for extended periods of time; I am very lucky to have had these experiences, and I want to share my recommendations with people interested in any of these locations.

NONE of these posts are advertisements. I do not have any discount codes or promotions for anything I write about; however, this should be considered a positive because it means that everything I write about reflects my true feelings. In order to keep this blog positive, my posts will only be recommendations for the things I enjoy the most in life. The topics will vary between whatever subjects I am interested in at a certain time, and I will have 1-2 new posts per day.

I wish I could have started this project earlier while some of my memories were fresher in my mind, but it is better late than never. I hope that other people will have the chance to visit or experience things that I write about, and I hope that people will have a similar taste in life to myself!
