Tamuras Fine Wine is actually a wine/alcohol shop (if you couldn’t already tell from the name), but I go there for the poke. I had always known where Tamuras was, but before my friend brought me to it a couple of years ago, I had no idea that they even sold poke. At all of their stores though, they have a poke section at the back of the shop.
Tamuras poke is some of the best in Honolulu, and it is my personal favorite. The reason I really enjoy Tamuras is the variety that they have; in addition to the traditional ahi poke, they also have king crab poke and several other unique options.
My 2 favorite options at Tamuras are the garlic king crab poke, as well as the spicy king crab poke. I have not found crab poke at another place, but it is an incredible dish. Ahi poke is super good, but king crab poke is on another level. I am sure many of you have never heard of or never tried this dish, and I can definitely say you are missing out.
Tamuras sells by the 1/4 pound, 1/2 pound, etc., as well as having poke bowl options. This makes it super convenient to get whatever size you want, and also makes it really easy to try out different options. Also, if you are an alcohol drinker, you can definitely also pick up some wine or liquor on the way out.
There may be better places for ahi poke in Honolulu, but for a diverse set of poke options, you cannot beat Tamuras.
