Best TV Shows to Watch on HBO Max: His Dark Materials

His Dark Materials is a show that came out not too long after the end of Game of Thrones on HBO. While I was definitely sad that GOT ended, it was good to find a new show on HBO that I enjoyed.
His Dark Materials is based on the book by Philip Pullman, and the trilogy which includes The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass. While I have not read the books, I found the TV series enjoyable. I am considering reading the books at a later time, maybe once the series is over.
The TV series is a combination of magic, drama, and fantasy. It has an incredibly high production quality (similar to that of Game of Thrones), but the story line is closer to that of Harry Potter (but still not very close). I think that it would appeal to a younger crowd, or people who are really into fantasy worlds.
I was also a big fan of the cast; there are not too many big names, although there are some such as Lin-Manuel Miranda and James McAvoy. Overall, the first season was both unpredictable and dramatic enough to keep me entertained throughout, and I was able to finish it in about a week or so.
There are 8 episodes in total, and they are about 45 minutes each. Season 2 was supposed to come out sometime later this year, but I am not sure if this timeline had to be postponed due to the coronavirus. I would definitely recommend giving the first episode a watch though and see if it seems like something you would enjoy.
His Dark Materials Recommendation Rating: 3
1: Something worth checking out if you have time
2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone
3: Something worth prioritizing if interested
4: Something worth making time to check out
5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for

Hi,
This is a blog for myself (and hopefully others) to keep track of all of the places, restaurants, books, movies, etc. that I do not want to forget. I am a college student who has lived in the US, Asia, and Europe for extended periods of time; I am very lucky to have had these experiences, and I want to share my recommendations with people interested in any of these locations.
NONE of these posts are advertisements. I do not have any discount codes or promotions for anything I write about; however, this should be considered a positive because it means that everything I write about reflects my true feelings. In order to keep this blog positive, my posts will only be recommendations for the things I enjoy the most in life. The topics will vary between whatever subjects I am interested in at a certain time, and I will have 1-2 new posts per day.
I wish I could have started this project earlier while some of my memories were fresher in my mind, but it is better late than never. I hope that other people will have the chance to visit or experience things that I write about, and I hope that people will have a similar taste in life to myself!
