A lot of people say that Friends is the best TV sitcom of all time. I have only watched a few episodes, so I cannot really comment on how great it is. However, my personal favorite TV sitcom is The Big Bang Theory. The show just ended last year, and it was a sad day when it ended.
In total, there are 12 seasons and 279 episodes. This is an incredible volume, and it shows how many fans the show had throughout its airing. Each episode is only about 20 minutes or so (20*279=5580 minutes, 93 hours, 3.875 days). Therefore, in total, the show run length is about the same time you would need to spend binge-watching Game of Thrones.
For those who have never heard of The Big Bang Theory, it is a comedy about 4 scientists, and eventually it evolves to include their wives/girlfriends. There is a lot of character development in the show, as they start off as the nerdiest of guys who cannot even talk to women. What they do all have in common though is that they are brilliant and work at Cal Tech. Every episode was funny, but they also all had a great dialogue/story.
While some of the jokes may go over people’s heads because they are science jokes, most of it is understandable for every type of viewer. The humor is a bit quirky, although I know many people with different personalities and preferences who all liked the show.
Overall, if you are looking for a comedy to amuse you at home, this would be a great show to start watching.
