Venchi is one of the best chocolate shops in Italy, but they also have stores in many other parts of the world. I am not a huge chocolate fan, but if you are into high quality chocolate, this is a great store to shop at. I mostly got chocolate at Venchi as a gift for other people, but the chocolate is really good.

One of my favorite things at Venchi is the gelato. At many of their shops, they have a liquid chocolate dispenser. This can be put into their cups or cones as a layer under the gelato, and it is super good. Also, since Venchi is known for their chocolate, their chocolate gelato is super rich and tasty. If you are ever craving some chocolate gelato, I would recommend Venchi as the top option (they also have chocolate hazelnut and several other chocolate flavors).

Compared to Grom, Venchi is completely different. Venchi gelato is rich, while Grom is light; Venchi’s best flavors are those with chocolate, while Grom has much more traditional (pistachio, hazelnut, milk) and fruit gelatos. Both are very good, and I would recommend either, so it really just depends on personal preference and what you are craving.

Since Venchi has been around since 1878, it is considered a premium chocolate brand. This is reflected in the price of their chocolates, as bars can be anywhere from $5-20, and their gelato is around $4-8. Overall, Venchi should be viewed as a treat, as there are many other gelato places in Milan that are much cheaper ($1-3). Still, if you are a chocolate connoisseur, I would recommend trying their chocolates and their gelatos, and see how it compares to other places.
