Mythic Quest is a comedy about a video game company that was recently released on Apple TV +. Honestly, I have not watched any other shows on Apple TV +, but since I had a free one-year subscription, I figured I should make use of it.
Mythic Quest seemed like an interesting concept for a comedy, so I decided to try it out. Once I started watching Mythic Quest, it was hard to stop watching, and I finished the whole first season in a week or so. There are 10 episodes, and each one is about 30 minutes or so.
I would say that the most apt comparison for the show is a video game version of The Office (although it is not quite as funny, nor does it have as memorable of characters). Still, it had me laughing every episode, and as a person who enjoys playing video games, it was relatable to see the behind-the-scenes action of a video game company. From everything I have heard, there is a lot of stress during the process, and I think it is accurately reflected in the show.
The show is also funny because it mocks millenials and Gen Z and our affection for video games; one of the main antagonists in the show is named Pootie Shoe, and he is a 12-year old gamer who is also the most famous streamer. He is also a spoiled brat, and it is very relatable to a lot of celebrities in the real world (which makes it funny!).
If you have bought any Apple device within the past year, you get a free subscription to Apple TV+. I would take advantage of this and use it to watch Mythic Quest if you are a fan of comedies or video games.
