Now that I have finished up my work for the summer, I am going to have to find new ways to keep myself busy and productive. I am considering taking a Coursera class, as these are great ways to learn about new subjects.
For those of you who have never heard of Coursera before, it is a website started by Stanford professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller. While they are computer science professors themselves, Coursera has so many different classes available. These are all video versions of actual courses taught at universities, so it is a great way to learn skills similar to those you would learn in college (although on a broader range of topics).
Today, Coursera has over 47 million users, and it is one of the most popular education platforms in the world. There are some super popular courses on Computer Science, Machine Learning, Coding, etc., for those of you trying to break into the tech world in the future. However, there are also some unique classes such as Yale’s Happiness Course, which is the most popular course offered at Yale. Regardless of what you are interested in, there is probably a course you will find interesting and useful.
I get access to Coursera through my university, but there are options for non-college students. Some of the classes are offered for free, while others you have to pay for (in some cases, you can take a course for free, but only get a certification if you pay for the class). I would definitely check out Coursera if there is something you are interested learning in, as this could be something which impacts your future tremendously!
This is a blog for myself (and hopefully others) to keep track of all of the places, restaurants, books, movies, etc. that I do not want to forget. I am a college student who has lived in the US, Asia, and Europe for extended periods of time; I am very lucky to have had these experiences, and I want to share my recommendations with people interested in any of these locations.
NONE of these posts are advertisements. I do not have any discount codes or promotions for anything I write about; however, this should be considered a positive because it means that everything I write about reflects my true feelings. In order to keep this blog positive, my posts will only be recommendations for the things I enjoy the most in life. The topics will vary between whatever subjects I am interested in at a certain time, and I will have 1-2 new posts per day.
I wish I could have started this project earlier while some of my memories were fresher in my mind, but it is better late than never. I hope that other people will have the chance to visit or experience things that I write about, and I hope that people will have a similar taste in life to myself!
