High Score is a new show on Netflix that was produced by the Youtube Channel Great Big Story. Great Big Story is one of my favorite Youtube Channels to watch, so I had high expectations for the series.

So far, I have only watched episode 1 of the series, but I was really impressed by it. The storytelling and production was really good, and I learned a lot about the video game industry that I had never heard before. The first episode discusses two games in particular, Pac-Man and Space Invaders. The episode really went on a deep dive for those two games, and told stories about how they were created and why they became so popular.

The video game really is a fascinating industry, and it is especially growing so fast now. However, I also think it is really interesting to learn more about the original video game industry. While nowadays video games can be played from the convenience of your own home on consoles such as Playstation or Xbox, the original video game craze took place in malls and arcades. While I didn’t grow up in this generation, it is still interesting to hear about it and see how far video games have come in the past 30-40 years.

If you are older, I think watching this series could be a bit nostalgic if you liked to play video games. Each episode is 45 minutes or so, and there are only 6 episodes in total. It has been in the Netflix Top 10 for a while now, so be sure to give it a look!

High Score Recommendation Rating: 3

1: Something worth checking out if you have time

2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone

3: Something worth prioritizing if interested

4: Something worth making time to check out

5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
