Mischievous Kiss: Love In Tokyo is one of the highest rated Japanese shows that I have found on Rakuten Viki, with a rating of 9.3/10. It is also one of the older shows available, as the show came out in 2013. Just because it is older though, does not mean that it is not worth watching.

If you have ever watched the Japanese show on Netflix called Good Morning Call, Mischievous Kiss is a very similar type of show. In my opinion, Good Morning Call may have been based upon Mischievous Kiss.

The show is about a not super popular girl named Kotoko, who falls in love with Yuki, the smartest, most handsome guy at her school. In a classic love story, Kotoko goes after Yuki for years trying to get his attention. In a twist of fate, her family actually starts to live with his family (watch the series to find out how), but nothing really happens. The whole story is about their journey, and how things gradually begin to change over time.

While there is nothing that will surprise you in the show, there are enough twists and turns to slow down the progression of the story. Also, the supporting actors (the parents, siblings, friends, etc.), are all really funny and play a big role in the show. With 16 episodes (50 minutes each) in season 1, it should take you a couple of weeks to finish the series.

Mischievous Kiss Recommendation Rating: 3.5

1: Something worth checking out if you have time

2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone

3: Something worth prioritizing if interested

4: Something worth making time to check out

5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
