“7 hours of commercial free football starts now!” These are the famous words announced every Sunday by NFL Redzone host Scott Hanson, and I always look forward to hearing them.
For those who have never heard of NFL Redzone, it is the ultimate football experience. Especially if you are an avid fantasy football player, Redzone significantly enhances your viewing experience. Redzone is a premium TV channel that is owned by the NFL, and it has zero commercials throughout the entire show.
The reason the station is called Redzone is that it shows the game that is closest to having a touchdown scored (when a team is in the Red zone). On normal TV stations, viewers can only watch one game, and this can seem slow for casual fans. Redzone, on the other hand, switches between games every couple of minutes to show the most interesting plays. It truly is a viewer’s heaven, and perfect if you want to see if your fantasy player scores.
It depends on which cable provider you have, but typically the Redzone package costs between $5-10. This is like $1-2 for every Sunday, which I feel is a reasonable value for what it offers. If you are a football fan who has never tried Redzone out, it is a must try!
