The Fork is a subsidiary of TripAdivsor, and it is an app that specializes in finding restaurants in Europe. When I was living in Italy, I constantly used The Fork because it had the best recommendations, and it also sometimes gave discounts or special offers for certain restaurants.
The Fork is more selective in the types of restaurants it recommends compared to Trip Advisor, which makes its’ recommendations more relevant and higher quality. The Fork rates restaurants out of 10, and anything 9 or above is normally good.
I probably used The Fork at least 30 times while in Italy (or while traveling around Europe), and while not all of the restaurants were hits, it was a much higher percentage than with other restaurant recommendation apps. Even if you already know what restaurant you are going to go to, it still is good to look it up on The Fork because restaurants offer discounts (sometimes up to 50%) if you go at an off-peak hour.
With travel being down throughout the world right now, it is unlikely that you will be visiting Europe anytime soon. However, if you are, or if you are planning on visiting Europe in the future, The Fork is a must get app for foodies.
The Fork Recommendation Rating: 4
1: Something worth checking out if you have time
2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone
3: Something worth prioritizing if interested
4: Something worth making time to check out
5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
