When I play golf in Hawaii, I normally ride a cart. However, if I am playing at a municipal/city-owned course, I almost always walk. The city-owned courses are only a good deal if you walk, as they charge $20 or so to ride a cart.
Until recently, I had been just carrying my clubs when I walk, or using a very old push cart to push my clubs. Unfortunately, with my back issues, I cannot really carry my clubs right now, and my clubs always fall off the old push cart (because they don’t attach very well).
Luckily, I now have a Bag Boy Nitron Auto-Open Push Cart, and it works tremendously. It is a 3 wheel cart, so it has good stability (but also better mobility than a 4 wheel cart). It also works well with any type of golf bag that you have, and it hooks in a lot better (so it won’t fall off). Additionally, it has all of the bells and whistles you can ask for, such as a compartment to put the scorecard, your phone, wallet, etc. in. There is also a water bottle holder and an umbrella holder, both of which come in especially handy on the course. Finally, the Nitron is known for being a great cart because it is really easy to open and close, and does not require as much effort as many other push carts.
Overall, if you play a lot of golf, and are looking to save money on cart fees, buying a good push cart can be a great investment. They will last almost forever, and you can use them every round. However, I would recommend buying a good one even if it costs more, as buying a cheap one will cause a lot of inconvenience in the future.
