Although I do not drink much boba, the only boba place I go to with any regularity is Shaka Shaka Tea Express. The store has multiple locations throughout Oahu, and it is actually owned by someone who went to the same high school as I did. This is one reason why I think the shop is especially popular for students from my school.

Another reason Shaka Shaka is popular is because they use real fruit instead of artificial flavoring. While this does not make the boba healthy, it is at least better for you than other boba places; also, in my opinion it really helps with the quality and taste of the drinks.

Shaka Shaka has a really diverse menu of options, with flavors ranging from mango to coconut to lychee to taro, etc. Their signature flavor, however, is pineapple, so if you like pineapple you should be sure to try that one. Shaka Shaka also has an assortment of seasonal specials, and their menu changes depending on the time of year that you go.

Even though I am not the biggest boba drinker myself, a lot of my friends who drink boba a lot consider Shaka Shaka their go-to boba place. With hundreds of reviews on Yelp and a 4.5 star rating, if you are looking for boba I would recommend trying out Shaka Shaka!
