Chiang Mai Thai Cuisine is a restaurant in Honolulu that specializes in authentic Thai dishes. It is one of my go to restaurants whenever I am craving Thai food.

Some of my favorite dishes at Chiang Mai include their yellow curry, beef Masaman curry, Pad Siew, spring rolls, and fried chicken. I have not had beef Masaman curry at any other restaurant, but it is a dish I really enjoy at Chiang Mai. Compared to the typical yellow, green, and red curries, it has a completely different flavor, and it is a dish you should try.

Since I am not a huge Pad Thai fan, I instead often order Pad Siew. Pad Siew uses much thicker noodles than Pad Thai, and it does not have the same peanut taste that Pad Thai has. Pad Siew was recommended to me a long time ago, and I have stuck with it ever since.

Chiang Mai also often has daily specials that you can order. A lot of times, they have either a whole fish dish or a fish fillet dish, and these are both really good. The whole fish is flash fried so it is crispy and flavorful, and it is a great dish to share. For a smaller fish dish, they often have the daily special fish fillet dish that is also quite good.

Overall, Chiang Mai Thai Cuisine is one of my favorite Thai restaurants in Honolulu. It is located in town, so if you are around the area be sure to check it out (although be aware that there is not much parking available around the restaurant). Chiang Mai is open for both takeout and limited capacity dine-in, and both options are great depending on your preferences!
