As a USC fan, I was sad when Gonzaga blew out USC in the Elite 8. I expected the same fate to happen to UCLA, but the Final 4 game between Gonzaga-UCLA was one of the best basketball games I have ever seen in my life. UCLA did not deserve to lose that game, but unfortunately there had to be a loser and a winner. If you happened to miss that game, you have to check out the highlights (you can see the Jalen Suggs game winner at this link).
As a college basketball fan though, Gonzaga-Baylor is the game that college basketball deserved. Gonzaga and Baylor have been the two best teams this entire year (and they were two of the best last year as well, before COVID-19 hit); the two teams were also supposed to play earlier in the year, but unfortunately that game was cancelled due to COVID-19 as well.
While the first week of March Madness is normally the highlight of the tournament because of all the upsets, this championship game is just as compelling. It is one of the first times in a while that the championship game has actually featured the two best teams, and by a significant margin. Both teams are also loaded with future NBA players, so it is a great game to see the future of the NBA.
As I mentioned in a previous post, March Madness is a truly special time of the year and I am just so glad it is back. It has been a great tournament thus far, and make sure you don’t miss out on the last game of the year. Game tips at 9:20 EST on CBS!
