While Hawaii is known for its fresh fish and great poke, it is not as well known for its sushi. While there are some decent sushi places in Hawaii, it is difficult to find a place that compares to sushi in Japan. However, out of all the sushi restaurants in Hawaii, Katsumidori, located in the Prince Hotel, is one of the best options.

I would consider Katsumidori to be on the same level as Sushi Zanmai in Japan, which is a chain sushi restaurant that I recommended before. Katsumidori is similar to Sushi Zanmai because while they both are not serving the top quality fish ($200+), they are very good for the price. Katsumidori has a tuna special for about $35, which is shown in the picture above. It comes with about 12 pieces of tuna, which includes dishes such as negitoro rolls to chutoro. The serving size of the tuna is also very generous, as they are relatively thick pieces of fish (compared to what you would find at other sushi restaurants).

Katsumidori is also a good option for people with a variety of tastes, as they have an extensive cooked food menu as well. They have a lot of rolls with cooked fish or shrimp, as well as having dishes such as Misoyaki Butterfish and Karaage. It is a much more diverse menu than a typical sushi restaurant, even if Katsumidori specializes in sushi.

I have several friends who say that Katsumidori is their favorite sushi restaurant on Oahu, and pictures of it are constantly on social media when people go to Katsumidori. If you are looking for a good value sushi restaurant, Katsumidori is one of the best places on Oahu!
