Discord is a website that I have known about for a long time, but have only recently started to use actively. Discord is really popular among the younger generation, and it used a lot by gamers and students. Discord was recently in talks to be bought out by Microsoft (for a valuation in the billions), but the deal fell through.

I use Discord only for NBA Top Shot and NFT’s, but it is a great space to become active in to learn about the newest trends in technology. NBA Top Shot has its own Discord that it created for anyone who is active on the site, and it is where they let users know about the latest drops and announcements. After having joined the NBA Top Shot Discord, I found other Discord servers created by members to talk about the latest NFT projects. While NFTs are already popular and pretty well-known at this point, being on Discord is how I learned about the latest NFT created by Topps (for baseball).

While I do not think any NFT will have the amount of success as Top Shot (in making its initial user base rich), I do think there are a lot of new innovative technologies coming down the pipeline. However, the people involved in it are a relatively small community, and you have to be in the right places to hear about the latest projects.

If you are interested in learning more about market trends and want to talk with people knowledgable within the space, Discord is one of the best places to start. It is a little difficult to use and not the most user friendly platform, but once you get the hang of it it is easy to see the use of it!
