Golf is not a cheap sport by any means, and one of the most expensive things required to play is golf balls. While they may seem cheap (they typically cost around $1-4 each) at first glance, you quickly realize that the costs add up quickly. Even if you are a decent golfer, it is not unusual to lose 1-2 balls per round. This could be an extra $8 per round if you are using balls such as the Titleist ProV1 (which is considered the gold standard of golf balls).
Vice Golf is a brand that came onto the scene relatively recently, but has gained notoriety with a lot of younger golfers. Vice Golf is known to offer top-quality golf balls for a lower price, and it achieves this by not selling in traditional methods. Vice Golf only sells balls on its website, which allows it to cut out paying the middleman. Also, Vice Golf does not sponsor any professional golfers, which cuts out a lot of marketing expenses that most major brands have. Finally, Vice Golf allows buyers to buy golf balls in bulk, and the more golfers buy the cheaper the balls are.
Vice has two types of premium golf balls, which are the Pro and the Pro Plus. These are supposed to be similar in quality to the ProV1, but they are significantly cheaper. Whereas the ProV1 is typically around $49 for a dozen, the Pro and Pro Plus start at $36 a dozen; however, if you buy 5 dozen (which seems like a lot but can last a while for good golfers), the price goes all the way down to $26/dozen. For a premium golf ball like the Pro and Pro Plus, this is a great price, and it is a reason why a lot of golfers have started to switch to Vice. Even if you are not trying to buy a premium type of ball though, Vice has other golf balls that can go as low as $15/dozen, which is great for golfers who are just starting out.
As you can see in the picture, Vice also has some really cool looking golf balls. The picture above is an example of the Vice Drip, which in my opinion is the coolest looking golf ball on the market. Its unique design also makes it easier to find the course and differentiate your ball from others. If you are looking for a more cost-effective golf ball, I would definitely recommend checking out the Vice Golf website.
Vice Golf Recommendation Rating: 4
This post has now been updated to reflect a new ratings system that I have implemented, which is scored as follows:
1: Something worth checking out if you have time
2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone
3: Something worth prioritizing if interested
4: Something worth making time to check out
5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
This is a blog for myself (and hopefully others) to keep track of all of the places, restaurants, books, movies, etc. that I do not want to forget. I am a college student who has lived in the US, Asia, and Europe for extended periods of time; I am very lucky to have had these experiences, and I want to share my recommendations with people interested in any of these locations.
NONE of these posts are advertisements. I do not have any discount codes or promotions for anything I write about; however, this should be considered a positive because it means that everything I write about reflects my true feelings. In order to keep this blog positive, my posts will only be recommendations for the things I enjoy the most in life. The topics will vary between whatever subjects I am interested in at a certain time, and I will have 1-2 new posts per day.
I wish I could have started this project earlier while some of my memories were fresher in my mind, but it is better late than never. I hope that other people will have the chance to visit or experience things that I write about, and I hope that people will have a similar taste in life to myself!
