If you enjoyed watching shows like Sherlock, Lupin, and Ocean’s Eleven, The Confidence Man JP is a show worth checking out.
The Confidence Man JP is a show about 3 con artists who create elaborate schemes to scam yakuza members and evil businessman. They choose who to scam based on who they want to help, as a portion of the money they make from scamming traditionally goes to victims of the people they choose to scam.
I enjoyed watching The Confidence Man JP because it had a good mixture of drama, mystery, humor, etc.; also, the three main characters in the show, Dako (the lead), Boku (the looks), and Richard (a little bit of everything), make for a great team. Each episode follows a similar pattern, in which they create a scheme, then watch it seemingly fall apart, and finally show how all of the “failures” were actually planned by Dako to dupe the yakuza/businessman.
Some of the scenes in The Confidence Man JP are a bit unrealistic or overdramatic, but oftentimes it is the theatrics that make the show interesting. If you enjoy shows with a likable antihero (or at least a hero that does not always make the best decisions), The Confidence Man JP could be a show worth checking out!
The Confidence Man JP Recommendation Rating: 3
