Best Japanese TV Shows to Watch: Ore No Hanashi Wa Nagai

Ore no Hanashi Wa Nagai is a Japanese drama with a story that many viewers will probably find relatable. Ore no Hanashi Wa Nagai stars Ikuta Toma (from Ouroboros and Hana Yori Dango) as Mitsuru, the main character, but also has several other main supporting characters.

Ore no Hanashi Wa Nagai is about Mitsuru, a former coffee shop owner who has been unemployed for the past 6 years. Mitsuru claims that his unemployment is out of choice, and that he will return to the workforce once he finds something he enjoys. For the time being he lives at home with his mom, and his sister and her family comes to move in for a couple of months while their house is being renovated.

After Mitsuru’s sister moves in, Mitsuru begins to develop a close bond with both her husband and her daughter. Most of the story is about the relationship that all of them begin to develop living in the house together, and the banter and character development is both interesting and satisfying to watch.

For the most part, Ore no Hanashi Wa Nagai is a feel-good show, and there is not a whole lot of suspense. However, the story moves along at a steady rate, and it mirrors what happens with traditional families.
