Shaka Tacoz is a taco restaurant on the Big Island located in Captain Cook. It is a bit of a far drive if you are staying in Kailua-Kona (and even further if you are staying in the Hapuna area), but if you have the time it is worth checking out.
Shaka Tacoz has a 5-star Yelp rating with over 350 reviews, so it is a very popular restaurant on the Big Island. Shaka Tacoz has a pretty simple menu, as you can choose between tacos, quesadillas, and burritos. From these options, you can choose pork, chicken, asada, veggie, and fish as your protein options.
When I went to Shaka Tacoz, I ordered the chicken and fish tacos, as well as the asada quesadilla. I think that the meats are about even with each other, but I personally preferred the quesadilla (it had the most flavor by far). Like many other Mexican/taco restaurants, if you go on either a Tuesday or Thursday they typically have discounts on their taco dishes.
All in all, Shaka Tacoz is a pretty typical taco joint (at least compared to mainland restaurants), and it was a great place to go for good, quick, cheap food on the Big Island. If you are craving Mexican food, it is worth a stop!
