When I was in the Bay Area recently, one of my favorite restaurants that I went to was called Sliver Pizzeria. Sliver has multiple locations, and the one I went to was located right next to UC Berkeley’s campus.
Sliver is a great place for college students to eat at, as it is quick, cheap, and good. One of the things I found most interesting about Sliver is that they only have one type of pizza (whatever the pizza special of the day is). When I went to the one in Berkeley, the special happened to be a pizza I really enjoyed, but I guess my experience could have been different if it was ingredients I didn’t like.
Sliver is cheap though, as a slice of pizza is only $2.50 or so (for a decent size of pizza). The slices came straight out of the oven, so they were extremely hot and fresh when I had them. Also, Sliver is known for having a special green sauce that you can put onto the pizzas. It kind of reminded me of the spicy green sauce that they always give at Peruvian restaurants, and the sauce went really well with the pizza.
While Sliver Pizzeria is not a fine dining restaurant, I really enjoyed it and would definitely go back (especially if I were a college student). In many ways, it reminds me of an In-N-Out for pizza!
Sliver Pizzeria Recommendation Rating: 3
This post has now been updated to reflect a new ratings system that I have implemented, which is scored as follows:
1: Something worth checking out if you have time
2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone
3: Something worth prioritizing if interested
4: Something worth making time to check out
5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
