Since moving to California, skateboarding has become a hobby of mine, as there are plenty of open roads and parks to skate in. I really enjoy skateboarding, as I think it is a fun way to exercise and take a break.
I have been using a Magneto skateboard, which is apparently a popular skateboard brand. I personally enjoy riding a Magneto skateboard more than Penny Boards, as I feel I have a lot more control and a better turning radius.
I have been using a Magneto Bamboo Mini Cruiser, and I think it is a great board to get. It’s 27 inches long, which is long enough to feel like you have control over the board (I have tried skating on a 22 inch Penny Board, but felt it was too short for me). 27 inches is also good though because it is not so long that you cannot carry it. I haven’t tried yet, but I think it would be doable to put the Magneto Bamboo Mini Cruiser in a drawstring bag.
I have always been more of a bike guy than a skateboard guy, but now I can see advantages of riding a skateboard. It is much more portable and fun to ride, as well as requiring a large amount of focus (it is tough to ride a skateboard without being completely locked in).
Magneto Bamboo Mini Cruiser Recommendation Rating: 4
This post has now been updated to reflect a new ratings system that I have implemented, which is scored as follows:
1: Something worth checking out if you have time
2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone
3: Something worth prioritizing if interested
4: Something worth making time to check out
5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
