Best Documentaries to Watch on Netflix: Schumacher

Michael Schumacher is one of the legendary names in Formula 1, and many consider him to be the greatest F1 driver of all time (if not the best, then up there with other drivers such as Senna and Lewis Hamilton).

Similar to Senna, Michael Schumacher had a tragic accident that has greatly affected his life. Unlike Senna though, Schumacher survived (although his exact current condition is unknown, the movie makes it seem like he may still be in a coma/unresponsive state) and his accident took place in a skiing incident rather than a racing incident.

There is a new documentary available on Netflix called “Schumacher” about the career and life of Michael Schumacher. Although Schumacher’s son Mick is currently driving in F1, the Schumacher’s are known to be a very private family, so this documentary is a rare look at their lives and situation.

Most of the documentary is about Schumacher’s legendary career, and it is a great look at just how much he was able to accomplish in F1. In addition to looking at his driving skills, the documentary does a great job of showing his passion for the sport, as well as his personality off the track. Since I only started watching F1 a couple of years ago, I never had the chance to watch Schumacher race; however, even before I began watching I was aware of who Schumacher was. This Netflix documentary is just another great way to learn more about F1 and some of the storylines that have defined the sport!

Schumacher Recommendation Rating: 4

This post has now been updated to reflect a new ratings system that I have implemented, which is scored as follows:

1: Something worth checking out if you have time

2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone

3: Something worth prioritizing if interested

4: Something worth making time to check out

5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
