The Tim Ferriss Show is still one of my favorite podcasts to listen to, and I felt that his October 14th, 2021 episode was particularly strong. The episode is titled “How I Built The Tim Ferriss Show to 700+ Million Downloads – An Immersive Explanation of All Aspects and Key Decisions (Featuring Chris Hutchins)”.

In the episode, Ferriss does a great job of explaining his rationale for creating a podcast originally, and some of the techniques that he believes made him so successful in the podcasting industry. Even though I have no current plans of starting my own podcast, I think that his advice translates well even outside of the podcast realm.

Some parts of the story I have heard in the past, but Ferriss goes more into detail than before. In this episode, Ferriss talks about what he considered when originally starting out the podcast (how many episodes he would try for, why he thought a podcast would be valuable, what metrics he would use to define success, etc.); Ferriss also talks about current strategies that he uses to keep the content and production quality high.

Even if you are not starting a podcast, if you are interested in business or how to build successful initiatives, this Tim Ferriss Show episode is a must listen.
