While I don’t eat desserts often, I do enjoy eating ice cream on some occasions. On even rarer occasions, I do think macarons make a great dessert as well (especially if they are high quality macarons).
When I was at the grocery store recently, I saw Mavens Creamery in one of the freezers. I had never heard of Mavens Creamery before, but their macaron ice cream sandwiches looked really good so I decided to try one. I tried the coffee hazelnut sandwich, which is coffee ice cream in the middle of a hazelnut macaron. The combination was fantastic and I would definitely get it again on a special occasion.
Mavens Creamery also had several other macaron sandwich flavors, so if you ever see it at the grocery store near you you can pick out one you like. I got mine at Safeway, but on their website it also says they are available at Whole Foods and Vons.
Apparently, Mavens Creamery is famous because its founders were on the show Shark Tank. After looking at Mavens Creamery’s website, they also have some other great qualities (no artificial flavorings, colors, or sweeteners). The founders were also two women located in the San Jose area, so for me it is good to support local businesses!
