China Mama is a good example of not judging a book by its cover. From the outside, China Mama looks like a pretty run down Chinese restaurant (it looked closed to me). The walls look old and the lighting doesn’t seem very appealing; however, when you get inside the restaurant it actually has a very nice decor and setup.
The food at China Mama was also really good, and it is one of the better Chinese restaurants I have been to. I went to Din Tai Fung and China Mama on this past trip to Las Vegas, and I thought that China Mama was the better of the two.
We ordered a wide variety of dishes at China Mama, ranging from Honey Walnut Shrimp to Sheng Jian Bao to Stir Fried Pork to Chow Mein (and many other dishes), and they were all really good quality. The food was tasty and the portions were pretty big, and prices were really reasonable as well (it is off the Strip so it is a lot cheaper than restaurants you typically find in Vegas).
Out of all the restaurants that I went to on my trip to Vegas, I think that China Mama was my favorite. It is definitely somewhere I would go back to again on future trips to Vegas, and somewhere I would recommend trying if you are visiting. Once again, don’t worry about the outside of the restaurant and just focus on the food!
