After deciding to get into the credit card points game (probably should’ve done it earlier, but it’s ok), I was looking for the best tools to keep track of my points and how to best use them. The site that I had heard of the most is The Points Guy, which is a website that specializes in maximizing credit card points (both getting and spending) and has been around since 2010.
The Points Guy website is super helpful and I would highly recommend it for those interested in learning more about the best credit cards to get and how to maximize rewards. The user interface is super friendly, and since it has been around for so long they have articles on almost everything you can think of. Also, The Points Guy is still providing new content daily and updating them to reflect the latest offers.
If you use The Points Guy website, I would also highly recommend downloading The Points Guy app. It is a super helpful tool to help manage your credit card points and see what you could possibly use them for. It automatically links to credit cards that you add, and it shows both spending and keeps track of your points total. This is super helpful because rather than having to sign into each account individually, you can see the total balance you have accumulated from all of your cards. It also shows the value of these points (or what they value them at), and lets you look at what types of trips you can book with them.
The app has been around for less than a year so there are still some bugs and features I think they could add; however, The Points Guy app is still super helpful and a great resource to have. It works similarly to how a budgeting tool works for money, except for points!
The Points Guy App Recommendation Rating: 5
1: Something worth checking out if you have time
2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone
3: Something worth prioritizing if interested
4: Something worth making time to check out
5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
