The Lincoln Lawyer recently came out on Netflix, and it has been on the top 10 charts for the past couple of weeks (when I was watching it was #3). The Lincoln Lawyer is based on a book by Michael Connelly of the same name, and there also was a movie starring Matthew McConaughey released in 2011.
The show follows a recovering addict named Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) who is hoping to return as a practicing lawyer; his comeback begins when he is given the law practice of an acquaintance he used to work with, but who was recently murdered. The practice comes with one high-profile client who is involved in another murder case, and the show mainly focuses on this trial (although it does branch out into other side stories as well).
While The Lincoln Lawyer is a legal show, it does not follow the typical format seen in other shows such as Law & Order. The pace and story reminds me more of USA shows like White Collar and Burn Notice; it is also similar because there are cliffhangers for most of the episodes. The cast is full of actors and actresses whose faces I was familiar with, but who were not so famous that I could pinpoint what shows they were from.
The Lincoln Lawyer Recommendation Rating: 4
1: Something worth checking out if you have time
2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone
3: Something worth prioritizing if interested
4: Something worth making time to check out
5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
