Best Japanese Shows to Watch: Dragon Zakura 2

Dragon Zakura 2 is a sequel to the popular show Dragon Zakura (it came out in 2005 though, so I have not seen that one yet). The star of Dragon Zakura 2 is Hiroshi Abe, who was voted the most popular actor in Japan last year.

Dragon Zakura 2 is about a lawyer/teacher who uses unorthodox methods to get the best out of his students; the job he decides to take is at an underperforming high school that isn’t known for its college prep skills. However, he promises the school that he will get it back to its old form and send a certain number of its students to Todai (the most prestigious university in Japan).

The show is really uplifting, as Professor Sakuragi is able to take a group of misfits (and students who had no intention of going to a well regarded college) all the way up to Todai. It is also a relatively realistic drama, using methods that could likely be replicated by students in real life (although no guarantee of getting into a prestigious college). If you want to watch something to motivate you and keep pushing, Dragon Zakura 2 is a great drama.

Dragon Zakura 2 Recommendation Rating: 4

1: Something worth checking out if you have time

2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone

3: Something worth prioritizing if interested

4: Something worth making time to check out

5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for

Hi,
This is a blog for myself (and hopefully others) to keep track of all of the places, restaurants, books, movies, etc. that I do not want to forget. I am a college student who has lived in the US, Asia, and Europe for extended periods of time; I am very lucky to have had these experiences, and I want to share my recommendations with people interested in any of these locations.

NONE of these posts are advertisements. I do not have any discount codes or promotions for anything I write about; however, this should be considered a positive because it means that everything I write about reflects my true feelings. In order to keep this blog positive, my posts will only be recommendations for the things I enjoy the most in life. The topics will vary between whatever subjects I am interested in at a certain time, and I will have 1-2 new posts per day.

I wish I could have started this project earlier while some of my memories were fresher in my mind, but it is better late than never. I hope that other people will have the chance to visit or experience things that I write about, and I hope that people will have a similar taste in life to myself!
