I’ve been doing a bit of research on opening some new checking and savings accounts recently, and one significant offer that popped up was the US Bank Checking Account.

Right now, US Bank is offering a promotion to new customers for $500 if your direct deposits total over $6000, or $300 if your direct deposits total between $3000-5999 (all within a 60-day period, and if you use the code 2022OCT). This is a lot higher than any other sign up bonus I have seen from any other banks, and it is potentially worth looking at if you are not an existing US Bank customer.

Setting up a new account with direct deposit is a bit of a hassle, but it is not as difficult as you may think it is. If you have a bit of time, you can probably go through the entire process in 30 minutes or so.

While opening new checking and savings accounts isn’t as lucrative and rewarding as credit cards can be, there are still some solid bonuses (especially if you set up direct deposit). I would definitely recommend doing some research and seeing which ones work best for you!
