Best Anime to Watch: Classroom of the Elite

Classroom of the Elite is an anime that was recommended to me by the Cruncyhroll algorithm, and it did not disappoint. Classroom of the Elite is a short anime right now (still coming out, but only 2 seasons and 24 episodes that have been released), so it is a good time to start before season 3 is released next year.

Classroom of the Elite has one of my favorite anime characters ever, who is the main character Ayanokoji. He is not a traditional anime character, as he is somewhat of an antihero (not quite, but he’s definitely not your traditionally good main character). He is one of the most cunning (not always in a good way though), smart, and ruthless characters you will encounter in any anime.

I would compare Classroom of the Elite to a show like Squid Game a bit, except that there is no violence or killing (but the same type of cutthroat, do what you need to do advance in life). It takes place at a super elite prep school where students and classes are constantly being ranked and competing against each other. This takes the form of both academic and athletic competitions.

While the setting of Classroom of the Elite may not be somewhere that you’d like to be in real life, it makes for an entertaining and fascinating anime. There is a lot going on, and in addition to Ayanokoji the support characters are all great in their own way.

Classroom of the Elite Recommendation Rating: 5

1: Something worth checking out if you have time

2: Something that is a hit for some people, but not a must for everyone

3: Something worth prioritizing if interested

4: Something worth making time to check out

5: An absolute home run, worth going out of your way for
