Alice in Borderland season 1 was one of my favorite Japanese shows, and I always thought it was way better than the Squid Game (similar genres, but Alice in Borderland never got the same recognition globally).
Season 2 of Alice in Borderland was a continuation of season 1, which had left off on a bit of a cliffhanger. At first I thought that season 2 was tracking to be better than season 1, but by the second to last episode of the show I was kind of torn (I was unsatisfied with episode 7); however, the last episode of the show completely explained all the plot holes from episode 7 and left the show off on a great note. I thought that the show had gone off the rails, but in reality it was all just saving up for the great last episode (and this could be just my opinion, as maybe others liked episode 7 even in the moment!).
Alice in Borderland is not for the feint of heart, as there are so many graphic and scary scenes; if you are willing to look past a little blood and gore though, the story is unpredictable and well thought out. For fans of shows/movies like Squid Game and Hunger Games, it’s definitely worth a shot!
